Alex has been involved in projects ranging from the restoration of grade I listed buildings, bespoke architectural designs to Contracts Administrator for a Botanical Garden Glasshouse.  Working within a wide client base he is keen to provide a very professional service.

Alex is sympathetic to the clients needs and is pro-active to ensure the project runs smoothly. Passionate about the importance of conservation he is keen to find innovative solution to problems both meeting the objectives of the project whilst preserving the significance of the past.  Alex highlights the importance of good communication with all parties with in the team and prides himself on an open minded approach to his design.

Clarendon Towers - deconstruction

Responsible for checking that the deconstruction was being carried out to the proposed method statements, reporting to CERA (Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority) Monitoring the building following any significant aftershocks.

Lead consultant and contracts administrator for a $1million scheme, Alex was responsible for site investigation, coordinating the design, compiling tender documents, contract & reviewing tenders, moreover managing the contractor, client and the design team throughout each stage.  He was also responsible for dealing with CADW to obtain consent for the works.

 

Kemeys Folley - Grade II

Alex carried out the design for a conversion of a Grade II listed castle folley into a residential home. Featuring on Channels 4's Grand Designs series

Alex was the Project Engineer responsible for the design of the renovated Talgarth Mills.  The aim of the project was to restore the existing mill to allow flour to be produced once again.  He was responsible for the structural design dealing with CADW to obtain consent for the works.

Beechwood House - Grade II

Project engineer for the restoration of the grade II listed historic house.  Load testing of an existing cantilever stone stair the outcome of which provided useful information for avoiding further cantilever stone stairs.
